Norma Blois of Riverview Wins SGI National Art Competition
Saskatchewan Government Insurance (Canada) has announced that Norma Blois has contributed the winning entry to 'Our Diverse Landscape 2007', the national competition for artwork, New Brunswick section.
Norma's winning painting of Pette Cove, Grand Manan, N.B.has been selected to appear in the SGI 2007 Brokers Calendar, a national publication with a current circulation of 100,000. SGI is a company currently operating in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, PEI, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
Norma is a watercolour artist who loves to paint Maritime scenes which depict light setting the painting mood, the moodier the better. Her paintings have been competitively recognized most recently at MAX-1 of the Heron Bay Gallery. Norma has also accepted invitations to exhibit her work at Magic Happens, a summer gala exhibition in Moncton, N.B., the Associates exhibition of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour, October 2006, in Halifax and most recently in MAX-2, October 2006. Norma is a contributing member of the Moncton Art Society, the Riverview Arts Council, an associate member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour and is a founding exhibitor of The Camden Artist's Collective.

Ron Hazel, Atlantic Regional Director of the Candadian Society of Painters of Water Colours,
has announced that Norma Blois and Kay McCartney have both had original watercolour paintings
accepted into the 'For The Love of Art' regional juried art exhibition and competition.
The exhibition is in support of the Associated Program of the CSPCW, artists who have
not yet been accepted into full membership of the CSPCW. 'For the Love of Art' takes place in
Halifax October 20,21 22..Opening night is Oct.20th.
The show site is 6016 University Av. at the Archives Bldg. 7pm to 9pm.

There were 109 submissions submitted by 40 Associates and 83 works were accepted.
