In our society today eating disorders are increasingly common. Women and men of all ages are more and more vulnerable to having a disturbed body image and disordered eating.
Since the inception of the Eating Disorder Centre in 1994, we have worked in the area of eating disorder prevention, identification, support, referrals, and education for professionals, families and loved ones. We have developed a school-based educational resource program focusing on adolescents. Our goal in this program, and the Centre, is to concentrate on prevention of eating disorders through healthy eating, exercising, healthy body image, and self-esteem.
